Girl Pow-R is made up of 14 young girls ages 10 through 15 who sing original music and cover songs while they dance and play instruments.
The band’s sound is rooted in pop rock and through their music and lyrics, they perform with the goal of inspiring others to be their best.

Girl Pow-R hits Orillia RibFest
Girl Pow-R, Canada’s newest all-girl, pop rock group consisting of very talented young girls (ages 10 to 15) who all sing original music, intermixed with cover songs, as well as dance, and play instruments, is scheduled to perform in Orillia at the Orillia RibFest, Saturday Aug. 26, at 11 a.m.
Each girl in the group (there are 14 girls in total) also has a social cause that they represent like advocating for better education for girls all around the world, homelessness, or all of us taking better care of our health through the foods that we eat.
Girl Pow-R’s sound is rooted in pop rock, with the goal of inspiring others to be their best, through their music and lyrics. Too often, young people are influenced by the thoughts and life experiences of singers and musicians who are in their late teens and their 20’s. It’s time to give young people an alternative to these messages.

A pop rock group consisting of 10 to 15 year olds will be taking the stage this weekend.
The group, called GIRL POW-R, will be singing and dancing to original music, and covers, at the Georgetown Rib Fest this Saturday.
GIRL POW-R was formed this past April, and by next month, they will have performed in over 40 shows and have memorized 24 songs and choreography. Of the 14 girls, some of them sing, some of them play instruments, and all of them dance.
A key message of the group is empowerment and being strong in social situations — more specifically, bullying.
Dawn Van Dam, the founder of GIRL POW-R, said the group started after watching her children go through bullying at school.
